EspañolGod is mindful of my family. He accompanies it with constant fidelity. God has a message for every family, one that rings true throughout its history: not only for times of sunshine and prosperity but also for times of darkness, hardship, and suffering.

“We can see that the word of God is not a series of abstract ideas but rather a source of comfort and companionship for every family that experiences difficulties or suffering. For it shows them the goal of their journey, when God “will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain any more” (Rev 21:4). .” (The Joy of Love, n.22)
Commentary
God is with each family. There is never one that is alone or forgotten. Trust that in his own way, He takes care of them all. How can this be? God´s gaze covers our whole future, which is unknown to us, and his love tends to our need for authentic goods, those we sometimes ignore or mistake or have even wasted.
While God speaks to families through joy during peaceful times of happiness and encourages them to continue working hard, it´s also true that He speaks through hope during the dark times. He doesn´t cast families to the background or hide from them either; He keeps contemplating them, closer and more tenderly because He knows that families that are going through these dark times are the ones who most need that loving gaze. He looks at them to give them hope, to remind them of his presence, to assure them He is holding them. He tells these families to wither through, to overcome such times, and that, while it might seem impossible as if the storm would never pass, to trust that He will bring forth more significant joys by opening new and unexpected doors. He reminds them that the passing storm does not just carry within the risk of a shipwreck but more profoundly the opportunity for better and more numerous goods. For instance, correcting defects, building communication lines, and strengthening the union.
How can I hear God´s message for my family? How can I see the same way He does? By having him present in my heart and my home instead of forgotten, and by better loving my family. Then, the tender light of the Holy Spirit and his strength shall come forth from within us.
