God blesses human love

Commentary

On several occasions, I have been able to see the expression on the face of first-time parents. They are completely in awe of their firstborn and look at him over and over again. Those stares carry the question, sometimes asked aloud, have I made this? The answer is yes and no. Those parents sense that within their small creation resides some of the greatness of God’s creation. Human life cannot be just a biological result. In addition to genetic inheritance placed in the body, there is a unique personal spirit of immeasurable and unconditional worth capable of corresponding, as a child, to the love of his parents. This new, unprecedented person Has not been produced or fabricated: they have been created. Husband and wife intervened in this creation alongside the Trinitarian God. Therefore, they can rightfully feel like God did when he contemplated the first man made from His hand and “saw that he was good.”
