To love is to dream big and turn it into our reality together. Something is amiss when loving is like a funeral.
Text
“You can’t have a family without dreams. Once a family loses the ability to dream, children do not grow, love does not grow, life shrivels up and dies”. (The Joy of Love, n.169)
Commentary
How vital is an illusion, hope, the recreation of the world! The fruitfulness of married love is one of its great dimensions. Of course, it means having our own children, but there is much more to it. Fruitfulness is putting life into everything. And life is joy, hope, the desire to build what is worthwhile.
Love makes us dream and see reality with the eyes of love. When this illusion is absent, sadness, darkness, hopelessness, and a crisis regarding the reasons for living seeps in. For this reason, among spouses, it is vital to nourish love day by day, with small details, gestures, smiles, attitudes proper to lovers. To nourish love day by day is as necessary as the air we breathe and, thus, not to lose the hope of improving, of bringing into fruition little by little the life we dream of for both of us and our family.
